About the role

The kindergarten is looking for a qualified early‑childhood teacher who can also act as a nature‑science educator on a temporary basis. You will join a well‑established department of one‑ and two‑year‑olds who love outdoor activities and will work alongside three supportive colleagues.

Key responsibilities

• Co‑manage the pedagogical programme for the group together with the pedagogical leader, ensuring a strong nature‑science focus.
• Collaborate with nature educators from the other two departments to develop and implement outdoor learning activities.
• Plan and execute daily routines, safety procedures, and parent communication while fostering a caring environment.
• Support and mentor fellow staff members, contributing to professional development and quality standards.

Required profile

• Passion for outdoor life and the ability to provide children with meaningful nature experiences year‑round.
• Responsibility for delivering nature‑science content and creating a safe, inclusive daily routine.
• Active participation in play and everyday activities, respecting each child’s needs and interests.
• Commitment to the organisation’s quality standards and collaborative planning with colleagues and the director.

What we offer

• A generous, supportive work environment with high autonomy, humor and mutual care.
• Daily nature experiences in a unique local setting, including access to a boat and a traditional lavvu.
• Close collaboration with the University of Tromsø (UiT) as a university kindergarten, including opportunities to supervise student teachers.
• Collective agreement through PBL, pension and insurance schemes, and salary supplements for further education (up to NOK 46 000 for a master’s degree).
• Professional development through the Learning Workshop Academy and a two‑year mentorship program for new graduates.
