Data & Analytics Internship

About the role

The United Nations Development Programme is seeking an intern to support its Global Policy Centre for Governance. The role focuses on data collection, analysis, and visualization for SDG 16 and gender‑related data initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Support data collection, statistical analysis and visualisation for global and country‑level SDG 16 products.
• Prepare datasets, code scripts and reproducible workflows using R, Python or Stata.
• Assist in designing and enhancing digital dashboards, automating data pipelines and ensuring data quality.
• Contribute to the annual SDG 16 Global Progress Report and other analytical knowledge products.
• Support outreach to improve country reporting on SDG 16 indicators, especially women’s representation in the judiciary.

Required profile

• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
• Strong interest in global development, governance, rule of law and gender equality.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multicultural environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in statistical software such as Python, R or Stata.
• Experience with data cleaning, management, visualisation and exploratory analysis.
