Data Controller

About the role

DOF, a global provider of integrated marine and subsea services, is looking for a Data Controller to coordinate the secure flow, storage and quality of survey and inspection data across offshore and onshore operations. You will work closely with project teams, offshore personnel, IT and external stakeholders so that critical operational data is handled efficiently, securely and in line with company procedures. The position is based in Haugesund or Bergen.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with project teams so that data management procedures are followed throughout project lifecycles.
• Coordinate the secure flow of operational data between offshore and onshore locations.
• Set up and administer project data accounts and user access.
• Administer onshore, offshore and cloud-based data storage systems.
• Support the development and integration of data acquisition and management systems.
• Assist in developing data quality control (QC) and analysis tools.
• Liaise with clients, subcontractors and third-party providers on data management and storage requirements.
• Ensure data integrity and security are maintained at all times.

Required profile

• A relevant bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information technology or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in data management or a similar IT-focused role.
• Structured, self-motivated professional with strong communication skills.
• Knowledge or experience of offshore operations is beneficial.

Required skills

• Good understanding of IT systems, networking and data management principles.
• Experience with cloud storage platforms and virtual machine environments.
• Experience with data acquisition systems is desirable.
