About the role
Silicon Labs is hiring a Digital Design Engineer in its Oslo team, which belongs to the Digital Subsystems (DSS) group. The DSS group develops digital architectures and IP from concept through production, including processors (including RISC-V), compute engines for AI/ML, accelerators, peripherals and system IP, as well as digital designs that interface with analog and mixed-signal modules. The role works closely with analog design, verification and software teams.
Key responsibilities
- Work with digital verification, analog design, software and product teams to define, implement and deliver key digital features for Silicon Labs.
- Contribute to advanced R&D, architecture, RTL design, timing, power and area optimization, and formal verification within an automated framework.
Required profile
- B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field; recent graduates and students approaching graduation are encouraged to apply.
- Foundation in digital logic, computer architecture or embedded systems.
- Interest in learning the full digital IC design flow, from specification and microarchitecture through RTL implementation, verification, synthesis and integration.
- Good written and oral communication in English, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and a collaborative, curious attitude.
Required skills
- Coursework or projects with an HDL such as Verilog/SystemVerilog or VHDL, with an interest in RTL design.
- Understanding of combinational and sequential logic, finite-state machines, clock and reset concepts and common digital interfaces.
- Advantageous: exposure to digital verification (simulation, testbenches, assertions, formal methods); familiarity with synthesis, timing and power/area tradeoffs; Linux and scripting (e.g. Python, bash).
- Preferred but not mandatory: university coursework in analog electronics or circuit design.
What we offer
- Annualized base pay range of NOK 479,150 to NOK 889,850, depending on experience, location and skill set.
- Office in Nydalen, Oslo, with flexible working hours and parking for cars, motorbikes and bikes.
