Electronic Technician - MODU

About the role

Noblecorp is looking for an Electronic Technician to maintain and repair the electronic control and support systems, electronic components and component interface systems on a MODU. The technician monitors the operation of all rig electronic systems, troubleshoots and repairs them as needed, and provides technical support so that rig efficiency and client objectives are met. The role also includes supporting the Technical Supervisor and assisting the Electrician and Subsea Engineer.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain and repair all electronic equipment onboard the rig.
• Finish incomplete repairs and maintenance projects safely, on schedule and efficiently, keeping the backlog low.
• Keep equipment failures to a minimum and within contractual limits.
• Ensure permits, isolation tags and logs accurately reflect equipment status, and track PLC and software versions.
• Maintain a high standard of housekeeping and keep good two-way communication with crew members.
• Help develop newly appointed team members and carry out other duties as assigned.
• On DP semi-submersibles: manage the rig's maintenance system (work orders), advise on improvements to the Noble Maintenance System, attend shift-change meetings and take part in safety meetings.
• Follow safety policies, the Live Safe Code, the Hazard Identification Tool and the STOP the job process, and carry out safety critical tasks and emergency duties.
• Develop Job Safety Analyses and hazard assessments, and supervise Assistant Electronic Technicians, contractors and vendors.

Required profile

• 5+ years of demonstrated or documented experience as an Electronics Technician on a MODU.
• Recognition of trade qualification from a technical college or apprenticeship, or equivalent, preferred.
• Completion of all training requirements for the position within the designated time period.
• For DP semi-submersibles: Flag State Maintenance Supervisor license required.
• Ability to lead, coach, motivate and mentor others, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
