Fleet Manager

About the role

Wilhelmsen Ship Management is seeking an experienced Fleet Manager to lead the operational performance, safety and commercial success of a fleet of LPG and LNG vessels. Reporting to the General Manager, you will drive performance, customer satisfaction and continuous improvement across the fleet.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of Vessel Managers responsible for day‑to‑day operation of LPG and LNG vessels.
• Ensure vessels operate safely, efficiently and in compliance with international regulations, class requirements and client expectations.
• Oversee maintenance planning, repairs, dry dockings, inspections and technical performance.
• Act as primary operational contact for ship‑owning clients and build strong stakeholder relationships.
• Coach, mentor and develop Vessel Managers and fleet support personnel.
• Support incident investigations, audits, risk assessments and contribute to budgeting and cost control.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Fleet Manager, Vessel Manager, HSEQ Superintendent or similar leadership role in the maritime industry.
• Experience with gas carriers, LNG or LPG vessel operations is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of maritime regulations, class requirements, industry standards and the ISM Code.
• Education as Chief Engineer, Master Mariner or a degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture or related discipline.
• Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
