About the role

The company is looking for a chief engineer to oversee the technical operation of the newly built electric ferry MF Norddalsfjord on the Eidsdal‑Linge route. The role involves ensuring safe, efficient and reliable vessel performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical compliance of ship equipment and components with class and authority requirements.
• Maintain machinery and components according to the AMOS maintenance system.
• Collaborate with the captain to follow the ISM safety management system.
• Train personnel under your supervision.
• Manage alarm procedures and keep engine and oil logbooks up to date.
• Oversee budgeting, ordering of spare parts and equipment, and maintain the material register.

Required profile

• Independent, solution‑oriented with strong technical insight.
• Leadership abilities, responsible and accurate, able to work under pressure.
• Good collaboration skills and a focus on a safe work environment.

Required skills

• Minimum M3 certificate.
• Safety course as required by qualification regulations.
• Crisis and passenger handling training.
• Valid health declaration.
