NORCAP Director – Senior Leadership Role

About the role

NRC is seeking an experienced leader to join the Senior Management Group as the NORCAP Director. The role will lead the NORCAP department, overseeing its pool of experts, projects, partnerships and brand, while providing strategic direction, programme and policy development, and delivering on strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategy and action plans for NORCAP.
• Manage performance and line‑manage staff within the department.
• Ensure accountability for results in line with strategies, budgets and plans.
• Maintain compliance with policies, guidelines and regulations.
• Oversee budget responsibility and allocation of administration budgets.
• Represent NORCAP in NRC’s partnerships and external stakeholder engagements.
• Lead global crisis‑management response for critical incidents involving NORCAP personnel.
• Foster a collaborative culture, prevent silo‑thinking and promote best practices.
• Promote a unified organisational culture through open discussion and feedback.
• Maintain and develop operational and institutional partnership relations.

Required profile

• Senior management/leadership experience in humanitarian, development, peacebuilding or complex international organisations.
• Proven track record in project and programme management and business development.
• Demonstrated success in fundraising and donor relations.
• Expertise in strategy development and implementation.
• Professional credibility to represent NRC and NORCAP with partners and external stakeholders.
• Fluent English, both written and verbal.
