Operational General Manager – KNA Oddane Sand Camping

About the role

KNA Oddane Sand Camping, a holiday camp run by the Norwegian Automobile Club (KNA) near Nevlunghavn in Larvik, is looking for an operational general manager. The role covers overall management, development and leadership of a large, diverse business, combining day-to-day operations with strategic work in a seasonal environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and carry out operations throughout the year (high, shoulder and low season)
• Be present on site and responsible for daily operations all year round
• Maintain, renovate and follow up on the facilities, coordinating tradespeople
• Recruit, lead and follow up staff and summer workers (6–8 in peak season)
• Ensure high quality of customer experience and service
• Identify and develop new revenue streams (rentals, upselling, shop/kiosk)
• Follow budgets, invoices and financial targets
• Make sure deadlines for operations, maintenance and reporting are met
• Work closely with the KNA administration and external suppliers such as cleaning, security and the shop

Required profile

• Leadership experience in a camp, tourism destination or other seasonal service business
• Experience with people management, finance and operations
• Practical, hands-on leadership style with good communication and service attitude
• High capacity during peak season, structured and solution-oriented
• Business sense and ability to develop the business further

Required skills

• Good IT skills and experience with booking systems
• BE certificate and driving licence are an advantage (can be obtained after joining)
