About the role

We are looking for a friendly and service‑oriented Receptionist to join Thon Hotel Sortland on a 30 % part‑time basis. The role primarily involves working every other weekend, with the possibility of additional hours during busy periods, and offers the chance to be part of an inclusive, engaged team of 20 employees.

Key responsibilities

• Greet all guests in a professional and engaging manner.
• Handle guest check‑in and check‑out procedures.
• Operate the central telephone system and respond to all inquiries.
• Maintain a tidy and welcoming reception and lobby area.
• Treat personal data confidentially and ensure guest and hotel security.
• Promote upselling of hotel products and services.
• Manage cash and credit transactions.
• Provide information about local attractions and services.
• Assist with reservation and booking inquiries.
• Perform various ad‑hoc reception tasks.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in similar hospitality roles.
• Responsible and reliable.
• Positive attitude and enjoys teamwork.
• Service‑ and quality‑focused.
• Adaptable to a fast‑paced environment.
• Systematic with high work capacity.
• Strong communication skills in Norwegian and English, both written and spoken.
