Senior Mechanical Engineer

About the role

Oceaneering’s Subsea Robotics & Offshore Projects Group in Stavanger is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead complex engineering projects that support ROV installations, mechanical systems and product design for global offshore projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and deliver complex engineering projects from concept through offshore delivery.
• Perform and verify technical calculations, analyses and detailed designs.
• Prepare and review technical documentation, procedures and installation methods.
• Ensure compliance with standards, customer requirements and internal processes.
• Plan and support mobilization and demobilization of equipment.
• Collaborate with project managers and multidisciplinary teams worldwide.
• Monitor production, testing, commissioning and offshore operations.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in subsea, offshore, mechanical design or installation.
• Strong analytical abilities and independent decision‑making.
• Fluent in Norwegian and English, both written and spoken.

Required skills

• Proficiency with 3D CAD, preferably SolidWorks.
• Experience using MathCAD and ANSYS or similar analysis tools.
