Støtteassistent i barnehage – bidra til barns utvikling

About the role

The position is a support assistant in a kindergarten, helping children who need extra assistance to participate fully in daily activities, play and learning. You will work closely with a support pedagog, the pedagogical leader and other staff to create an inclusive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide safety, build good relationships and ensure predictability for each child.
• Support children in play, interaction, communication and group participation.
• Act as a language and communication model, using signs, pictures and body language as needed.
• Observe and document each child’s development and share insights with the support team.
• Follow up on individual goals and measures, integrating support naturally into everyday activities.
• Collaborate closely with the support pedagog, pedagogical leader and other staff members.

Required profile

• Relationally oriented, attentive to each child’s needs and a good listener.
• Solution‑oriented, flexible and able to work independently with responsibility.
• Capable of communicating with people from diverse backgrounds and life situations.
• Warm, generous, clear, curious, patient and respectful in interactions with children.
