Associate Staff Hardware Engineer – HW Tools IoT

About the role

Silicon Labs is looking for a senior‑level hardware engineer to join its Oslo‑based Hardware Tools team. You will design and deliver development kits and test infrastructure for the company’s wireless devices and microcontrollers.

Key responsibilities

• Design embedded systems from architecture through schematic capture, PCB layout and prototype validation.
• Develop manufacturing‑ready board designs and automated test systems.
• Collaborate with contract manufacturers to ensure timely delivery of ~150 development kit types worldwide.

Required profile

• MS in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) with 5+ years of electronics design experience.
• Deep knowledge of low‑power design, microcontrollers, wireless MCUs and FPGAs.
• Strong understanding of embedded software interaction with hardware.

Required skills

• Proficiency with schematic capture and PCB layout tools (e.g., Altium Designer).
• Automation and scripting experience (Python, C).
• Experience in design for manufacturing and production testing.
