FM Radio Tunnel & Indoor Repeater Engineer

About the role

Motorola Solutions Norway's FM Radio team ensures that more than 380 tunnel and indoor repeater solutions and their equipment operate reliably for Norwegian public safety services. The role involves investigating and resolving faults, working closely with customers and the NOC, and transferring knowledge to Operations. It is based in Oslo and requires a security clearance at CONFIDENTIAL level.

Key responsibilities

• Provide second-line technical support to the NOC on alarms and customer reports of poor coverage, and help resolve issues so the network is optimised.
• Take ownership of alarm tickets and fault reports, update them regularly and drive escalated faults to resolution within SLAs.
• Represent the company technically with customers and in internal fault investigation and network optimisation discussions.
• Contribute to knowledge documents and operational procedures, and give informal training and support to NOC resources.
• Analyse remote logs, assist with alarm identification and prioritisation, and support FLM engineers in fault diagnosis.
• Liaise with DNK counterparts and subcontractors, carry out optimisation before delivery, and maintain repeater IP overviews until the CMDB arrives.
• Integrate new repeaters into monitoring tools and use support tools effectively, following up with tool providers when needed.
• Be prepared to travel within Norway at short notice and stay away from home for several days.

Required profile

• High school degree and 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Fluent written and spoken English and Norwegian.
• Security clearance at CONFIDENTIAL level before joining.
• Good teamwork, flexibility and organisational skills; leadership and advisory abilities.

Required skills

• Relevant IT tools experience.
• Competent operation of the necessary support equipment.
