Global Reward Lead (Temporary Cover)

About the role

Flyktninghjelpen (Norwegian Refugee Council) is seeking a Global Reward Lead for an 8‑month temporary cover. You will shape and deliver the organisation’s Compensation & Benefits strategy, balancing strategic direction with hands‑on operational delivery across a worldwide humanitarian network.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the pooled Reward team, overseeing performance, workforce planning and staff development.
• Standardise reward approaches across country offices, NORCAP and P&O Operations, ensuring alignment with minimum standards and best practices.
• Implement reward systems, tools and procedures, including pay‑scale development, allowances and benefits determination.
• Provide technical guidance on compensation and benefits throughout the employee lifecycle.
• Prepare business cases and briefing documents for senior management, advising on policy exceptions and reward‑related decisions.
• Build capacity by training P&O managers, country focal points and people managers.
• Lead reward policy review, design, consultation, implementation and monitoring.
• Embed change‑management principles and ensure compliance with NRC policies.
• Develop and maintain national pay‑scale benchmarks and structured consultation mechanisms.

Required profile

• Proven experience in leading compensation and benefits functions at a global or multi‑country level.
• Strong strategic thinking combined with the ability to execute operational tasks.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and change‑management skills.
• Ability to produce high‑quality analytical outputs and business cases.
• Experience managing a pooled team and coordinating across diverse locations.
