Jurist / seniorrådgiver – avdeling for klagebehandling

About the role

The Labour Inspection Authority (Arbeidstilsynet) is seeking an experienced jurist to join its Complaint Handling Department in Trondheim. You will work on a wide range of labour‑law cases, ensuring that final decisions are legally sound and consistent with established practice.

Key responsibilities

• Handle complaints concerning enforcement orders, fines, coercive measures and suspensions under the Working Environment Act.
• Prepare legal assessments, draft decisions and provide reasoned justifications.
• Coordinate with the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs and the Government Legal Office on potential litigation.
• Support related areas such as building permits, working‑time applications and information requests.
• Contribute to the development of uniform legal practice and legal certainty in the workplace.

Required profile

• Law degree with solid experience in labour law and administrative law.
• Ability to balance competing societal interests and exercise sound legal judgement.
• Strong analytical skills and independence in case handling.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Norwegian labour legislation.
• Familiarity with administrative procedure law.
• Understanding of EEA law (advantageous).
