National Programme Development Officer

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a National Programme Development Officer to join its Oslo office. Reporting to the Chief of Mission and working closely with the Partnerships Officer, the incumbent will support the development and implementation of migration‑related programmes and strengthen external partnerships.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and assess opportunities for collaboration with governmental, intergovernmental and non‑governmental partners.
• Assist in the design, planning and monitoring of projects and programmes aligned with IOM Norway’s strategic objectives.
• Compile and analyse information on migration‑related policy developments.
• Support stakeholder engagement activities, including preparation of briefing materials and background analyses for senior management.
• Contribute to the Mission’s external positioning and communication efforts.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Political Science, Humanitarian Affairs, Economic Development, Business Administration, Public Administration, International Studies or a related field, with at least two years of relevant professional experience; or a Master’s degree in one of the above fields.
• Previous experience in programme development, project implementation, research, external relations or stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to work under the supervision of the Chief of Mission and the Partnerships Officer and to coordinate with Programme Units, regional offices and headquarters.
