Photojournalist with Video Skills – Year-Long Assignment

About the role

Bergens Tidende is looking for a photojournalist with strong video skills for a one-year assignment. You will stay close to news events and tell compelling stories with a camera, through still images and video, working independently on news assignments and making good journalistic judgments on site. The work covers breaking news, fires, reports and planned news stories, and you will deliver visual content across the newspaper's platforms. The position is part of a shift system with evening and weekend work.

Key responsibilities

• Cover news, breaking events, reports and sports with photos and video
• Work independently on assignments and together with colleagues in the editorial team
• Contribute to the whole visual process, from idea and shooting to editing and publication
• Produce video adapted to different digital formats and platforms

Required profile

• Journalistic instinct and ability to find good situations and stories
• Fast and reliable work even when the news situation changes quickly
• Good understanding of press ethics and sound judgment on assignments
• Class B driving licence
• Ability to film, edit and finish video independently; on-camera presence is a plus
