Senior Site Engineer – Critical Environments

About the role

Flynn is seeking an experienced Site/Senior Engineer to manage construction works on site, ensuring safety, compliance with program schedules, project drawings, specifications and Building Regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Assume day‑to‑day management of site technical and engineering requirements (RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, design team workshops, etc.).
• Implement quality control measures in line with the overall BCAR plan for the project.
• Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners and quantity surveyors during planning and construction.
• Support the Project Manager/Contracts Manager to deliver works on programme, within budget and to high standards.
• Identify information gaps, develop solutions and rectify issues with project and design teams.
• Maintain excellent relationships with the construction project team and subcontractors.

Required profile

• Third‑level qualification in Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Site Engineer or Senior Engineer on large‑scale construction projects.
• Strong understanding of QA/QC processes, inspection test plans, quality documentation and defect prevention.
• Highly competent in all aspects of setting out, surveying, levelling and managing site control systems.
• Knowledge of various construction types and techniques.
• Competent in temporary works coordination.
• Strong numeracy and report‑writing skills.
• Ability to formulate plans and execute them within budget and timeline.
• Ability to make informed decisions and know when to escalate.
• Computer literate and familiar with MS Project or similar scheduling software.
