Summer Vacation Doctor – Psychiatric Clinic (LIS1)

About the role

The psychiatric and addiction treatment clinic at Sykehuset Telemark is looking for vacation doctors in summer 2027. It is open to medical students with a valid license or licensed doctors awaiting their LIS1 service. You will work in ordinary patient care under the guidance of experienced doctors, in multidisciplinary teams, and take part in the clinic's duty roster. The period runs from week 25/26 to week 33/34, and there are eight full-time positions.

Key responsibilities

• Take part in ordinary patient work in one of the clinic's six sections
• Contribute to assessment, follow-up and treatment of patients under supervision
• Cooperate with doctors and other professional groups in multidisciplinary teams
• Take part in the clinic's duty roster

Required profile

• Medical student with a valid license or licensed doctor
• Good spoken and written Norwegian
• Interest in mental health care and patient care, and motivation to learn
• Good communication with patients, relatives and colleagues, and ability to work both in teams and independently
• Experience in psychiatry, addiction treatment or general hospital practice is an advantage

Required skills

• Digital skills, preferably experience with DIPS and MetaVision
