Exchange Desk Analyst - Power Derivatives

About the role

Nord Pool / Euronext's Exchange Desk team is looking for an Exchange Desk Analyst/Associate in Oslo. Working on a shift basis, you are the first point of contact for trading members and other market participants, supporting trading across Nordic, Baltic and Continental power products and helping keep Europe's power markets orderly and transparent.

Key responsibilities

• Operate core exchange desk tasks such as order management, trade registration and assistance with trade cancellation.
• Keep regular contact with market participants, contribute to liquidity and stay aware of activity on the Central Order Book.
• Build relationships with trading members, market makers, non-executing brokers and ISVs, and promote the Exchange Desk as the first point of contact.
• Educate market participants on power futures contracts for risk management and lead power futures-related seminars.
• Provide technical information on new products and trading/clearing front-end interfaces.
• Help onboard new trading members and advise on client onboarding of new products until go live.
• Contribute to improving operational efficiency and tools, working with Operations, EMS, Sales and Product/Business Development.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or higher in finance, energy, economics or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2-5 years of experience at a trading desk, market operations or exchange/broker operations environment, ideally in energy markets.
• Understanding of power derivatives markets.
• Fluent written and spoken English and a Scandinavian language.
• Willingness to work shifts during opening hours (07:30-18:30 CET), including Norwegian public holidays when Continental markets are open.

Required skills

• Proficiency with trading and order-management systems and standard analytical tools.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Preferred: knowledge of matching-engine behaviour, order types and market microstructure, familiarity with regulatory frameworks and clearing processes, and German.
