Head Chef (Kitchen Manager) at a Leading Hotel

About the role

Thon Hotel Selbusjøen is looking for an engaged and skilled Head Chef to lead the kitchen of one of Trøndelag’s most beautiful hotels. The position starts in January 2026 and reports directly to the hotel director.

Key responsibilities

• Daily operation and strategic development of the kitchen.
• Recruitment, training and scheduling of kitchen staff.
• Quality control of food production and service.
• Budget, purchasing, inventory and stock management.
• Creative menu and concept development.
• Planning of events in collaboration with conference and course management.
• Food safety (IK‑mat) and internal control.
• Supplier follow‑up and waste reduction initiatives.

Required profile

• Relevant vocational certificate and experience in similar roles.
• Organised, structured and detail‑oriented.
• Strong knowledge of food safety regulations (IK‑mat).
• Passionate about culinary arts and creating memorable food experiences.
• Result‑driven, solution‑oriented and flexible.
• Ability to motivate and inspire team members.
• Excellent communication skills in Norwegian and English.
