About the role

Thon Hotel Panorama is looking for a dynamic Kitchen Manager to lead the culinary operations of its newly renovated hotel. The role combines day‑to‑day kitchen management, event catering, and oversight of the lobby bar and seasonal outdoor kitchen.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily kitchen and service operations, including breakfast, lunch and dinner for conferences and events.
• Recruit, train and schedule kitchen staff and waiters, ensuring optimal staffing levels.
• Control inventory, budgeting, purchasing and cost calculations for menus.
• Develop menus, conduct costing, and monitor food‑and‑beverage cost control.
• Lead the lobby bar and contribute to the development of a seasonal outdoor kitchen.
• Ensure compliance with food‑safety (IK‑mat) and alcohol‑control (IK‑alkohol) regulations.
• Participate in the hotel’s duty roster and leadership team, promoting a positive work environment.

Required profile

• Relevant vocational certificate and experience in similar kitchen‑leadership positions.
• Strong knowledge of food‑safety (IK‑mat) standards.
• Passionate about creating high‑quality food and beverage experiences.
• Result‑oriented, flexible and able to motivate a team in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills in Norwegian and English, both written and spoken.
