About the role
Bodø2024 European Capital of Culture is seeking artists to develop a light‑based artwork for the final weeks of the 2024 program. The project runs from 15 to 30 November 2024 and aims to showcase innovative concepts that reflect Sápmi and Northern Norway.
Key responsibilities
- Conceptualise and design a light‑art piece that can be installed and displayed in Bodø.
- Ensure the work is technically feasible, safe, and ready for the November exhibition period.
- Collaborate with local partners to manage production, material procurement, and installation logistics.
- Provide documentation that allows the concept to be replicated or re‑assembled if needed.
Required profile
- Artist or creative professional with a strong connection to, or deep understanding of, Sápmi and Northern Norway.
- Experience in creating light‑based installations or similar public‑art projects.
- Ability to deliver a complete, exhibition‑ready work within the specified timeframe.

What we offer
- Artist fee of EUR 12,500.
- Production and material costs covered by agreement.
