ROV Pilot for Scientific Subsea Operations

About the role

REV Ocean is looking for a motivated and technically skilled ROV Pilot to join its subsea operations team. You will operate the Kystdesign Supporter 6000 work‑class ROV on scientific expeditions, supporting ultra‑deepwater exploration, sampling, and deployment of scientific equipment worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Pilot and operate the Kystdesign Supporter 6000 ROV and its TMS during scientific and subsea missions.
• Handle manipulators, subsea tooling, cameras and scientific sampling equipment with precision.
• Execute dives according to dive plans, procedures and operational limits, reporting to the Subsea Supervisor.
• Participate in pre‑dive planning, toolbox talks, risk assessments and operational briefings.
• Conduct launch and recovery operations through the moonpool as part of the ROV team.
• Monitor ROV, TMS, LARS and associated system status, reporting any deviations immediately.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on the ROV, TMS, LARS and workshop equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, hydraulic, mechanical, fibre‑optic, control and communication systems.
• Assist in fault diagnosis and technical repairs to minimise downtime.
• Support integration, testing and operation of scientific sensors, survey equipment and third‑party subsea tools.
• Maintain accurate dive logs, maintenance records and technical documentation.

Required profile

• Hands‑on offshore experience with work‑class ROV systems.
• Strong operational and technical competence in subsea environments.
• Ability to work closely with science teams, bridge crew and vessel management.
• Commitment to safety, operational discipline and equipment care.
