Senior Platform Engineer

About the role

Statkraft is looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to join its Application & Platform team in IT Infrastructure Operations in Oslo. The team operates, modernizes and continuously improves critical business applications and their underlying platforms, working alongside experienced infrastructure engineers, software developers and system managers. The position reports to the Manager of Application & Platform in Infrastructure Operations.

Key responsibilities

• Operate, maintain and continuously improve the platforms and infrastructure supporting business-critical applications.
• Work across a technology landscape including Azure, Kubernetes, High Performance Computing (HPC), on-premise and hybrid cloud environments.
• Ensure the availability, performance, scalability and security of application and platform services.
• Drive continuous improvement, automation and modernization using Infrastructure-as-Code, AI and engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with software developers, infrastructure engineers, security specialists and business stakeholders in cross-functional teams.

Required profile

• Five or more years of experience in platform or application engineering and operations.
• Bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field, or relevant work experience.
• Significant understanding of operating models and operational excellence.
• Eligibility for security clearance and authorization; background checks are conducted before hire.

Required skills

• Significant Azure cloud competency.
• Certifications in cloud technologies are an advantage.
• Scripting and automation skills are an advantage.
• Experience in the energy or financial industries is an advantage.
