Service Technician - Offshore Equipment Commissioning

About the role

Motive Offshore Group, which combines equipment rental, manufacturing and Testing, Inspection & Certification (TIC) services, is looking for a Service Technician in Stavanger, Norway. The role covers commissioning and operating equipment, performing testing, inspection and certification offshore or onshore, and working with the client and the Operations Department. It is a full-time position.

Key responsibilities

• Commission and operate equipment safely and efficiently, within the allocated scope of works and equipment limits, in line with HSEQ guidelines
• Build rapport with the client and maintain strong working relations with stakeholders
• Ensure safe mobilisation, installation and demobilisation of equipment, and prepare it on time for client or company needs
• Carry out load tests, daily checks and maintenance records, and complete weekly personnel timesheets with client approval
• Perform subsea testing, including setup, monitoring and execution, and carry out inspections, maintenance, repairs and preventive maintenance on rental fleet equipment
• Troubleshoot equipment faults and liaise with the company where needed
• Attend project briefings, client inductions and HIRA sessions, and complete required training

Required profile

• Preferred: time served in a mechanical or engineering role
• Valid driving licence and valid offshore survival certification (BOSIET/FOET or Norwegian equivalent)
• Experience with electrical installation, maintenance, testing and fault-finding
• Experience in an offshore, industrial, oil & gas or similar environment highly desirable
• Ability to read and understand technical and isometric drawings

Required skills

• Strong mechanical and hydraulic experience, including flex lay equipment (RDS, tensioners, carousel systems)
• Subsea testing knowledge (electrical, optical and hydraulic)
• Good IT skills, strong troubleshooting and organisational skills
• NDT certification is beneficial but not mandatory
