Vessel Manager – Gas Carriers / LNG Bunker Vessels / LPG Carriers

About the role

Wilhelmsen Ship Management is seeking a Vessel Manager to lead a small fleet of gas carriers, including LNG bunker and LPG vessels. Based in Lysaker, Norway, you will work in a hybrid setting, bridging shore‑based technical management with day‑to‑day vessel operations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain safe, reliable and cost‑efficient operations for 2–3 vessels.
• Ensure compliance with class, statutory and industry regulations.
• Provide technical support, plan inspections and conduct vessel visits.
• Monitor operational performance, including cargo handling and technical systems.
• Manage budgets, cost control and financial reporting.
• Prepare and deliver reports to owners and stakeholders.
• Participate in meetings with owners, charterers and onboard teams.
• Support incident analysis, HSEQ collaboration and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Handle charter party matters and communications with key industry stakeholders.

Required profile

• Seagoing experience as Chief Engineer or 2nd Engineer, or relevant shore‑based experience such as class surveyor or naval architect.
• Proven experience with gas carriers (LNG, LPG or similar).
• Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Focus on safety, quality and environmental performance.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
