Automation & BMS/EMS Engineer

About the role

GE HealthCare is looking for an experienced Automation and BMS/EMS Engineer to join its A&D team in Oslo. You will maintain, program and optimise critical control systems and validated environmental monitoring platforms in a regulated pharmaceutical production facility, ensuring compliance with GxP, GAMP5, data integrity and regulatory requirements. Fluency in Norwegian is required.

Key responsibilities

• Program, configure and troubleshoot Siemens and Rockwell PLCs and HMIs on manufacturing equipment, and optimise automated processes to reduce downtime.
• Operate, maintain and configure Honeywell EBI for facility environmental control, and oversee the validated Facility Monitoring System (FMS) tracking temperature, humidity, differential pressure and particles.
• Ensure automation work, software changes and data storage comply with GxP, GAMP5 and 21 CFR Part 11, and maintain data integrity for environmental data.
• Author, review and execute IQ/OQ protocols for software, hardware and FMS sensor upgrades, and manage calibration schedules and technical documentation.
• Act as technical point of contact for vendors, quality teams and corporate stakeholders, and report deviations, root-cause analyses and CAPAs in Norwegian and English.

Required profile

• Minimum 5-7 years of engineering experience in a validated pharmaceutical, biotech or medical device manufacturing plant.
• Native or professional Norwegian (B2/C1 minimum) and professional English.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to diagnose complex runtime errors under tight production schedules.

Required skills

• Advanced Siemens (TIA Portal/Step 7) and Rockwell (Studio 5000/FactoryTalk) PLC and HMI experience.
• Honeywell EBI administration and validated Facility Monitoring Systems.
• Cleanroom classifications, data integrity and automated system validation.
