Business Development Director - Norway

About the role

Arondite, a defence technology company building the software and AI behind autonomous systems, is expanding into Norway. The Business Development Director will lead the early business development and strategic engagement in Norway, based in Oslo, and will build trusted relationships with defence and public-sector stakeholders. The role is strategic and hands-on, combining market shaping with day-to-day pipeline building, and may require travel across Norway.

Key responsibilities

• Lead Arondite's early business development and strategic engagement in Norway.
• Build relationships with the Ministry of Defence, front-line units, NJFHQ, FFI and the wider Norwegian Armed Forces ecosystem, as well as with primes, technology partners and other organisations.
• Position Arondite as complementary to established Norwegian players, where partnership or channel routes are stronger.
• Identify, qualify and progress commercial opportunities for Cobalt and the wider offering, running customer discovery to test demand and refine positioning.
• Shape opportunities linked to autonomy, counter-UAS, electronic warfare and interoperability with Norwegian and NATO architectures.
• Work with product and engineering teams to turn market signals into product insight, roadmap input and go-to-market recommendations.
• Support partnership structuring, pricing, proposals and commercial negotiations.
• Represent Arondite with senior decision-makers and act as a spokesperson for media and governmental affairs.
• Help shape the longer-term Norwegian presence, including hiring insight, ecosystem mapping and growth priorities.

Required profile

• Experience winning enterprise software, defence technology or complex public-sector deals in the Norwegian defence or national security environment.
• Strong understanding of Norwegian defence procurement, research collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
• Track record of building senior relationships across government, defence, industry or technology organisations.
• Track record of structuring and advancing partnerships in defence, public sector or other highly regulated environments.
• Ability to work in a fast-moving, high-growth company alongside engineers and technical teams, with high ownership and autonomy from day one.
• Legal right to work in Norway at the time of application, or a clear route to obtain it.

Nice to have

• Understanding of deploying AI solutions in defence contexts, and experience selling AI or machine learning in regulated environments.
• Familiarity with responsible AI, defence AI ethics or assurance frameworks, and with export controls and security requirements.
• Knowledge of Norwegian and NATO interoperability challenges and familiarity with the Trondheim autonomy and drone ecosystem.

The role is likely to require holding, or being eligible for, Norwegian security clearance, and the exact level and timeline will be confirmed before publication. Close support from London is initially available, but the focus is on building trusted access in Oslo and across Norway.
