Data Engineer

About the role

Sopra Steria is looking for a Data Engineer in Trondheim to join a dynamic team of highly qualified colleagues and help shape tomorrow's data solutions across different industries. The work involves varied projects combining modern data technologies with strong collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Design and set up event-driven architectures using message services such as Kafka and Pub/Sub for real-time data processing
• Work on distributed platforms to process large volumes of data, including advanced data modelling
• Design, set up and optimise cloud solutions on Azure, AWS and GCP using storage, serverless computing and containers
• Design and implement cloud infrastructure with IaC tools such as Terraform and Bicep
• Combine technical competence with an understanding of customer needs and close cooperation with other teams

Required profile

• Degree in IT, data engineering or related fields
• At least three years of relevant experience with data platforms
• Experience with distributed systems and cloud technologies
• Norse, at least B2 level
• Strong professional interest in data platforms, curiosity, willingness to share knowledge and good teamwork

Required skills

• Good programming skills, especially Python; Go, Kotlin, C# or Java is an advantage
• Production experience with Databricks, preferably with Delta Lake, Unity Catalog and MLflow
• DevOps, CI/CD and IaC (Terraform) is an advantage
• Orchestration tools such as Airflow or DBX, and event architectures, are an advantage
