Global Trade Compliance Manager

About the role

Wilhelmsen Ships Service AS is seeking a Global Trade Compliance Manager to lead its customs and trade compliance function across its worldwide operations. The role serves as the centre of excellence, ensuring that the company’s supply chain complies with all applicable customs, import/export and sanctions regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor, interpret and implement changes in global customs, trade, import/export and sanctions regulations.
• Develop, maintain and continuously improve trade compliance frameworks, policies, processes and controls.
• Act as the subject‑matter expert on customs and trade compliance, advising internal stakeholders.
• Lead risk assessments, drive remediation initiatives and enhance data quality and governance.
• Manage trade compliance documentation, licensing, regulatory reporting and communications with authorities.
• Collaborate with Operations, Customs, Transport, Procurement, Product Management, QHSSE and external partners to support compliant trade activities.
• Design and deliver training programmes to promote a strong compliance culture.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Customs, International Trade, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• Minimum three years of experience in customs operations, international trade or trade compliance.
• Strong stakeholder management and ability to work across functions and geographies.
• Analytical, structured problem‑solving approach and ability to work independently.
