Port Agent – Seasonal Cruise Ship Agency (2027)

About the role

Pole Position Logistics, a shipping, freight forwarding and local distribution company based in Longyearbyen since 2005, is looking for a Port Agent for the 2027 season. You will support the company in providing agency services for expedition cruise ships, yachts, research and cargo vessels operating in Svalbard waters. You will be part of the Port Operations team, working with seven other port agents and more than 40 colleagues across freight forwarding, distribution and accounting. The role is office-based, handling logistics and communication behind the scenes.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate crew accommodation and transfers
• Arrange shooting range safety sessions and order provisions
• Handle luggage handling, shore excursions, pilot and berth bookings
• Manage freight, cargo, stevedoring, fuel and waste arrangements
• Act as main point of contact for your assigned vessels during the summer, advising on local regulations and suppliers
• Plan memorable shore excursions and coordinate passenger experiences

Required profile

• Fluent business English, spoken and written; Norwegian, another Scandinavian language or a second language (German or French) preferred
• Bachelor's degree or extensive maritime/logistics experience; cruise industry experience, especially expedition, is a plus
• Category B driving licence
• Knowledge of MXP is an advantage
• Good knowledge of Longyearbyen
