Project Manager / Engineer – Plant Development

About the role

BASF is seeking a Project Manager / Engineer to join its omega‑3 production plant in Sandefjord. The role combines engineering design with project leadership to drive capacity upgrades, renewable energy initiatives, automation and yield improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute modification projects for the production facility.
• Lead multidisciplinary project teams and manage timelines, budgets and resources.
• Define technical specifications for new equipment and plant installations.
• Promote continuous improvement across the factory.
• Coordinate closely with external suppliers, contractors and internal operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical, Process or Chemical Engineering.
• Open to recent graduates; relevant project‑leadership experience in process industry is a plus.
• Familiarity with design of process plants and hygienic design requirements for food/pharmaceutical production.
• Proactive, solution‑oriented and able to work both independently and in teams.
• Strong written and spoken communication skills in Norwegian and English.
