Psychiatrist – Full-Time Position

About the role

Sykehuset Telemark is looking for a psychiatrist for its psychiatric clinic, which offers specialist treatment in addiction care, forensic and security psychiatry, general psychiatry, acute psychiatry and geriatric psychiatry. The position is a permanent full-time role, though smaller part-time arrangements can be considered. You will work in multidisciplinary teams with psychologists, nurses, social workers and others, and help develop existing patient pathways and new treatment offerings.

Key responsibilities

• Take responsibility for assessment, evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of patients with varied symptoms
• Be medically responsible for patient pathways in your team, and support across teams when needed
• Help with medication reviews and physical health issues
• Cooperate with general practitioners and other health services in the catchment area
• Guide doctors in specialisation
• Take part in on-call duty and admissions work as agreed

Required profile

• Norwegian specialist qualification in psychiatry
• Written and spoken Norwegian at a level sufficient for professional practice
• Experience with various treatment methods, assessment and diagnostic tools
• Ability to integrate diverse approaches and differentiated treatment methods
• Independent, proactive and responsible, with good communication skills
