Unit Manager – Surgical Ward

About the role

Sykehuset Telemark is looking for a new leader to head a surgical ward within its surgical department, which has about 30 permanent staff and focuses on quality in patient care. The current section manager is retiring, and the hospital wants an inspiring, development-oriented leader who will help develop the well-run section further. The position is full-time and permanent.

Key responsibilities

• Take responsibility for daily ward operations, personnel management and finances
• Lead professional development, strategic planning and continuous improvement work
• Cooperate with other section and department managers in the clinic and ensure good collaboration across disciplines

Required profile

• Norwegian authorisation as a nurse
• Desirable: experience from specialist healthcare and knowledge of ward management
• Desirable: leadership education; other relevant experience and strong leadership skills are also considered
• Fluent spoken and written Norwegian
• Clear, confident leadership that creates direction, engagement and trust, with good teamwork and communication skills
• Ability to engage, motivate and develop others' competence
