About the role
VPP Tana is seeking a full‑time psychiatrist to join its Digital FACT team and adult outpatient clinic. The position combines clinical work in a multidisciplinary environment with the opportunity to live in the pristine nature of Finnmark.
Key responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive psychiatric assessment and treatment for adults across the municipalities of Tana, Nesseby, Båtsfjord, Berlevåg and Vadsø.
- Participate in the Digital FACT team, delivering partially ambulatory services across Eastern Finnmark.
- Lead and contribute to group‑based Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) sessions, with training opportunities provided.
- Collaborate with psychologists, nurses, social workers and other specialists to develop individualized care plans.
- Engage in innovative projects and contribute to the development of digital mental‑health services.
Required profile
- Norwegian medical licence and specialist qualification in psychiatry, or very close to completion.
- Broad knowledge of general adult psychiatry, including experience with psychosis, suicidal risk, personality disorders, substance‑use disorders and attachment disorders.
- Interest in working both independently and as part of a team, with a desire for interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Willingness to embrace a rural lifestyle and contribute to a supportive workplace culture.
Required skills
- Clinical expertise in adult psychiatry.
- Familiarity with DBT principles and group therapy formats.
- Experience with digital health platforms and telepsychiatry is advantageous.
