Receptionist (Full‑time) at a Central Hotel

About the role

Thon Hotel Alta is looking for a full‑time receptionist to join its front‑desk team. You will be the first and last point of contact for guests, creating welcoming experiences and handling a variety of service situations.

Key responsibilities

• Greet all guests in a professional and engaging manner
• Manage guest check‑in and check‑out procedures
• Operate the central telephone system and respond to all inquiries
• Maintain a tidy and inviting reception and lobby area
• Handle personal data confidentially and ensure guest and hotel safety
• Promote and upsell hotel products and services
• Perform cash and credit handling duties
• Carry out various ad‑hoc reception tasks

Required profile

• Relevant experience in similar hospitality roles
• Responsible and reliable
• Positive attitude and team‑player spirit
• Service‑ and quality‑focused
• Adaptable to a busy, varied work environment
• Systematic with high work capacity
• Strong communication skills in Norwegian and English, both written and spoken
• At least 18 years old (due to alcohol service)

Required skills

• Experience with front‑desk software and reservation systems
• Cash handling and basic accounting
• Ability to manage confidential guest information
