Senior System Developer

About the role

Sonat Consulting, a specialist consulting firm with about 120 employees and offices in Oslo, Bergen and Trondheim, is looking for experienced system developers in Oslo, Bergen and Fredrikstad. As a senior system developer you will design, develop and evolve robust systems of high quality, working on projects for customers who expect solid solutions and consultants who understand both technology and context.

Key responsibilities

• Develop stable and maintainable solutions in Java or .NET
• Contribute to architecture choices and technical decisions together with the team and the customer
• Build modern backend and frontend solutions based on web technologies
• Use container technology and cloud platforms in production-critical systems
• Work on message-based architectures and integrations
• Focus on good development processes such as automated testing, continuous delivery and code quality
• Work closely with other developers, architects, designers and customers, and share knowledge within the professional community

Required profile

• At least five years of experience as a system developer
• Experience building solutions over time and knowing what makes systems work in practice
• Comfortable in your field, curious about new technology and willing to share experience
• Able to explain technical solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Higher education in IT is an advantage but not required if experience is solid

Required skills

• Solid experience with Java or .NET
• Container technology such as Docker, Kubernetes or similar
• CI/CD, automated testing and TDD
• TypeScript or JavaScript and frameworks such as React or Vue
