Embedded Software Engineer

About the role

Sensio develops sensors, systems and platforms that improve care quality and efficiency for older people, patients, health professionals and society. It is looking for embedded developers who will work on wireless systems that save lives, improve communication and give better audio in classrooms, through solid firmware development. You will join a highly competent cross-functional product development team working with modern tools, collaborating closely with hardware, application and cloud developers. The position is based in Sandefjord and reports to the Tech and Development Lead.

Key responsibilities

• Develop robust, efficient and secure firmware in C/C++ for resource-constrained embedded systems
• Work in RTOS environments such as FreeRTOS and Zephyr
• Contribute to platform development on STM32 and Nordic nRF microcontrollers
• Design and implement energy-efficient wireless solutions based on Thread, BLE and WiFi 6
• Optimize systems for low power consumption, high reliability and safe operation in real use cases
• Take part in system design, code reviews, debugging and new hardware setup
• Ensure good integration across disciplines, from sensor to server

Required profile

• At least 3 years of experience developing embedded systems
• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer engineering, cybernetics, electronics or similar
• Strong programming skills in C and C++ for embedded systems
• Practical experience with RTOS and real-time development
• Good understanding of wireless technologies (BLE, Thread, WiFi)
• Experience with debugging tools, oscilloscopes and low-level analysis
• Norwegian and English, written and spoken
