Fullstack Developer with TypeScript

About the role

Schibsted Media's Video & Audio team builds the technology behind publishing, distributing and consuming video, live streams and podcasts across major Nordic news brands. As a fullstack developer you will work on products and the technology behind them, from the video experience on VG and Aftonbladet to streaming on VGTV and the podcast experience in Aftenposten. The team has nine frontend, backend and fullstack developers, an Engineering Manager, Product Manager, UX Designer and Data Analyst, and is spread across Oslo and Krakow.

Key responsibilities

• Build and improve user-facing video and audio experiences
• Develop the services behind publishing, playback, ads and live streaming
• Work on video transcoding and large-scale media processing
• Improve how video and audio metadata is processed, enriched and used
• Explore AI capabilities such as speech-to-text and text-to-speech
• Build systems that perform reliably during major breaking news and live events
• Work closely with newsrooms and product teams to shape what is built next

Required profile

• Comfortable working with Node.js and TypeScript
• Experience across the full stack is valuable but not required from day one
• Curious, enjoys learning and wants to build products used by millions of users
