Managing Director – Meat and Poultry Industry Association (KLF)

About the role

KLF, the meat and poultry industry association representing independent private businesses in Norway, is looking for a managing director based in Oslo. The role represents the industry externally and leads the organisation internally, with a strong focus on interest politics and advocacy for members.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the industry's voice and advocate for member companies, increasing their visibility in decision-making and public debate
• Influence politicians, authorities, trade unions and other organisations in the food and agriculture sector, including EU relations through CLITRAVI and UECBV
• Understand agricultural and food policy, market regulation and tariff protection, and their impact on the supply chain from raw materials to market
• Build close, trust-based relationships with member company leaders and help set clear priorities across diverse members
• Communicate publicly and in the media, taking the lead on issues affecting the industry
• Develop the organisation's digital solutions and use technology and data to improve services for members

• Strong political understanding and ability to get things done
• Ability to build relationships, networks and trust
• Interest in and understanding of Norwegian food production policy, the meat, poultry and egg value chains, climate, preparedness and digital services
