Senior Hardware Engineer - Video Security

About the role

Motorola Solutions Norway is hiring a Senior Hardware Engineer for its Fornebu team, which works on video security products. The engineer takes responsibility for hardware throughout its full lifecycle, from early concepts and development through industrialization, verification, compliance, release, continuous improvement and long-term support. The position sits in the core hardware team and works closely with all other disciplines, including the video security department.

Key responsibilities

• Take responsibility for hardware from concept through industrialization, verification, compliance, release, continuous improvement and long-term support.
• Research and evaluate emerging and gap technologies, and examine and experiment with use cases and test setups.
• Design, review and supervise all aspects of the electronics in the products.
• Carry out hardware testing, troubleshooting and qualification.
• Work with manufacturing and sub-suppliers.
• Contribute to shaping the security solution together with the video security department.

Required profile

• Master's degree in electronics design.
• 5-10 years of experience in hardware product development.
• Strong hands-on hardware design background and practical engineering skills.
• Passion for technology and hardware product development; enjoys taking things apart to understand how they work.
• Interest in scripting and low-level programming.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills, and proficiency in English.
