Account Manager - Metals

About the role

ABB is looking for an Account Manager for the Norwegian metals industry. You will be responsible for a portfolio of customers, developing ABB’s position, relationships and business opportunities across the segment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute ABB’s customer strategy for a portfolio of metal industry clients.
• Build long‑term, trust‑based relationships with decision‑makers from operational, technical and purchasing functions.
• Understand customers’ strategies, installed base, investment plans, operational challenges and sustainability goals.
• Identify and grow new business opportunities in service, upgrades, projects, automation, electrification and digital solutions.
• Lead cross‑functional customer teams and coordinate internal expertise to deliver holistic solutions.
• Represent ABB in customer forums, industry networks and market activities.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience in technology, industry or commercial roles such as project management, engineering, service, sales or business development.
• Proven ability to build strong customer relationships and deliver measurable business results.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in technical, economic or management fields (experience may substitute formal education).
• Excellent communication skills in Norwegian and English, both written and spoken.
• Strong technical understanding combined with commercial acumen and a structured approach to customer development.

Required skills

• Knowledge of automation, electrification and digital solutions for industrial customers.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and managing complex projects.
