BIM Project Engineer – Kongsberg

About the role

Norconsult is looking for a BIM project engineer to join its Kongsberg office, which has been present since 2023 and moved into a new building in February 2026. The team covers water supply, energy, electrical, environmental, renewable, construction and GIS fields, working on local and national projects. The role involves BIM design and planning of small, medium and large projects across all phases, with close cooperation with colleagues across Norway.

Key responsibilities

• BIM design and planning of small, medium and large projects
• Work in varied tasks across all project phases
• Energy and climate assessments
• Calculations, analyses, functional descriptions and cost estimates
• Use of modelling tools and visualisation and view models
• Subject-matter responsibility within projects
• Preparation of tender documents and cost estimates

Required profile

• At least five years of experience
• Bachelor's degree in one of the listed fields: timber, steel and concrete construction; water and wastewater engineering; building technology project management; automation, electrical and IT coordination; fire safety; energy and HVAC; environment; acoustics; geotechnics; roads, tunnels and bridges; SHA-HMS; community security and emergency preparedness
• Good verbal and written Norwegian or another Scandinavian language
• Team player who enjoys digital development and new software

Required skills

• Proficiency in relevant BIM modelling software
• Ability to build good relationships with clients and partners
