DataOps Consultant – Oil and Gas

About the role

Sopra Steria's Stavanger office is growing and needs more consultants for its DataOps initiative, driven by increased demand from oil and gas customers. The goal is to help clients use technology to become more data-driven, so that relevant data can be collected, trusted and used in both traditional applications and modern analytical solutions.

Required profile

• Combines understanding of work processes and domain data in oil and gas with IT expertise in data platforms, data transformation and analysis.
• Domain expertise in an E&P area such as Drilling & Wells, Subsurface, Exploration & Reservoirs or Production.
• Experience working with digital data, for example in data governance, data management, data engineering or data analytics.
• Knowledge of modern methods and technologies for delivering data products.
• Fluent Norwegian and English, written and spoken.
• Higher education in information technology and/or a relevant field in energy, petroleum, geophysics etc. is an advantage.
• Good interpersonal skills, comfortable communicating with stakeholders at all levels, and a strong drive for work.
• Experience with digital initiatives in oil and gas is a big advantage.

Required skills

• Modern data platforms, general (e.g. Microsoft Fabric) and industry-specific (e.g. OSDU and CDF).
