Energy Technician – Hydro Power Plants

About the role

Ustekveikja Energi Holding AS manages operation and maintenance of three hydro power plants near Geilo, owned wholly or partly by Hol municipality. It wants to strengthen its production department with skilled and engaged energy technicians. You will work on site at Geilo and out at the power plants in a practical and varied job within renewable energy.

Key responsibilities

• Operate, inspect and maintain the power plants
• Diagnose faults and solve practical problems on technical installations
• Carry out planned and ongoing maintenance tasks
• Contribute to safe and stable plant operation
• Work closely with colleagues and other specialists
• Take part in the shift roster for the power plants

Required profile

• Vocational training in electrical engineering, preferably with experience from high-voltage installations, and/or vocational training as a mechanic, preferably with experience from the power industry
• Practical experience in technical operation and maintenance
• Good Norwegian, spoken and written
• Ability to drive a snowmobile under demanding conditions
• Enjoy solving practical and technical challenges while taking safety seriously; able to work independently and in teams

Required skills

• Electrical or mechanical vocational qualification
• Good ICT skills
• Category B driving licence
