Sensio · Oslo
Job description
About the role
Sensio, a European care technology company, is looking for a Machine Learning Engineer to join its new AI team. The role sits at the core of sensor-driven care technology and works with machine learning models running on embedded devices, close to the hardware, in products that must perform reliably in real care environments. The main focus is training and evaluating computer vision models.
Key responsibilities
- Train, validate and improve computer vision models
- Optimize models for embedded devices and resource-constrained hardware, including performance, memory use and power consumption
- Work with sensor data such as depth, time-of-flight or similar data to improve model precision and robustness
- Export, test and prepare models for deployment
- Build systems for continuous improvement, experiment tracking, model evaluation and feedback loops
- Collaborate with embedded, software, product and data science colleagues so models work reliably in real-world care environments
Required profile
- Master's degree or PhD in machine learning, computer science, robotics, signal processing or a related field
- Solid experience with computer vision
- Experience developing, training, validating and optimizing ML models for embedded or resource-constrained hardware
- Ability to work independently on complex machine learning problems, with expertise from industry, research or both
- No care or healthcare technology background required, but understanding of building models that work reliably outside a controlled lab
Required skills
- Strong Python skills and experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch
- Experience working close to hardware, preferably with sensors, depth cameras, time-of-flight data, robotics, drones, automotive systems or similar
- Understanding of inference on edge hardware
- Bonus: time-of-flight cameras, depth sensors, sensor fusion, embedded Linux, C++, firmware, model profiling, MLOps, MLflow, hardware-in-the-loop testing, safety-critical products
What we offer
- A central role in building and shaping Sensio's AI capabilities
- A Norwegian product and technology environment with international ambitions
- A strong, cross-functional team across hardware, software, product and design
- Room to take ownership, influence technical direction and grow professionally
