Matros for Hufthamar‑Krokeide ferry route (MF Horgefjord)

About the role

Fjord1 is seeking a deckhand (matros) for the Hufthamar‑Krokeide ferry service operated by the electric vessel MF Horgefjord. This is a 12‑month temporary contract with strong prospects for permanent employment.

Key responsibilities

• Ticketing, watch‑keeping and general onboard duties.
• Alternating work between deck and engine areas as required.
• Executing tasks assigned by the supervising officer.
• Responding to alarm instructions and performing safety‑ and environmental‑related work.
• Handling customer interactions and ensuring a safe, efficient voyage.

Required profile

• Relevant sea service qualifying you as a deckhand.
• Basic safety training certificate.
• Training in crisis and passenger handling (company‑provided).
• Valid health declaration.
• Fluent oral and written Scandinavian language skills.
• Reliable, solution‑oriented, team‑focused and committed to safety and service excellence.
