VAT Recovery Consultant

About the role

Ryan is looking for a VAT Recovery Consultant in Oslo. The consultant gives expert guidance on value-added tax matters, identifies capital leakage and ensures the accuracy of clients' account ledgers. The recovery audit covers national and international VAT, incorrect payments and unused credit notes, aiming to find and fix transactions that have cost clients money.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct VAT reviews and audits to identify areas for improvement and recommend solutions that enhance compliance and efficiency.
• Advise clients on VAT compliance and guide VAT-related issues in line with applicable laws and regulations.
• Gather, analyse and act on customer data to improve operating efficiencies and costs.
• Analyse and interpret complex VAT regulations and legislation, giving accurate and timely advice.
• Stay up to date with VAT developments and legislative changes and communicate their impact to clients.
• Work with finance, legal and tax teams to align and integrate VAT solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting, finance or a related field.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, able to interpret complex VAT rules and give accurate advice.
• Able to work independently, manage several projects at once and meet deadlines.
• No supervisory responsibilities.

Required skills

• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and internet research.
• Solid knowledge of the tax engine.
